DBGI in numbers

The Digital Botanical Gardens Initiative (DBGI) is a pilot of the Earth Metabolome Initiative. It brings botanical gardens, researchers, and open-data infrastructure together to document the chemical diversity held in living plant collections.
DBGI connects three practical activities: collecting well-documented plant material, analysing its chemical composition, and linking the resulting data to specimens, taxonomy, geography, and other open knowledge.
The project is distributed across an international network. Its map marker is a reference point for the network rather than the boundary of the project.
